Susan Gilmore
President and CEO

Susan Gilmore became president of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley in October of 2005. She had spent her last seven years at United Way of America, most recently in the Office of the President as vice president of membership accountability, charged with implementing the stringent new annual membership certification process for all 1350 United Ways.

Prior to going to the national organization, Susan served as campaign director and subsequently executive director of United Way of Amarillo and Canyon Texas. She began her service career as executive director of the Panhandle Plains Council of Camp Fire Boys and Girls. Annually, more than $11 million dollars is generated to support these priorities.

As President and CEO, Susan leads a staff of 40, works with a board of 30 business, community and government leaders and depends upon the skills of over 3,000 community volunteers. Susan and her husband Ben live in Easton and have three daughters and two grandchildren.


Dolores Laputka
Board Chair

Dolores A. Laputka is a partner at Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, P.C. in Allentown, PA. She received her B.S. in Business Management with concentrations in finance and computer science at Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and her J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

Ms. Laputka has been involved in the areas of tax planning for closely held businesses, as well as financial and estate planning for individuals for many years. For the last several years, she has been concentrating much of her efforts on tax issues for not-for-profit organizations including charitable giving techniques and related issues. Prior to joining Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, she was a Senior Tax Manager at Price Waterhouse in Pittsburgh, PA. She also was Vice President in the Trust Division on United Penn Bank, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

 

She is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants; Member of the American Bar Association, Section in Taxation; Member of the Lehigh County Bar Association; 2008-2010 Chair of the Board of Directors of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley; Secretary of the Allentown Art Musuem; past President of Allentown Rotary Club; Director of the Lehigh Valley Estate Planning Council; past Chairman of the PICPA Estate Planning Conference Committee; frequent lecturer and instructor at various professional meetings including seminars on charitable giving techniques.
