Through a community-building partnership with the Lehigh Valley Alliance on Aging, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, along with more than 340 past and present volunteer members, works together to achieve a vision of being a community where older adults can remain in their  homes and continue to live full lives with as much choice as possible.

Mission

The Alliance's mission is to advance community strategies designed to ensure that comprehensive long-term care and supportive service systems meet the existing and emerging needs of all older adults in our community. Its goals are to:

  • Mobilize the Lehigh Valley Region for the purpose of making the emerging issues, preferences, and options/opportunities for our older adult population a public priority for planning and investment.
  • Develop a comprehensive, regional, long-range plan for improving the organization, access, and delivery of long-term care and supportive services for older adults.
  • Develop a regional networking, data collection/dissemination, and information sharing system for improving communication and resource development to be used by consumers, service providers and community planning organizations.
